Child Burials from Novyi Cemetery of Middle Sarmatian Culture (Early Period)

The paper deals with child burials of cemetery Novyi the Middle Sarmatian culture. Due to representative source base Novyi, it was possible examine 44 that were divided by age: up a year; early childhood (1–3 years); first (4–7 years); second (8–12 years); adolescence (12–16 years). Thus, for children aged year (infants), there is rather high mortality which predominantly depended on natural selection. Infants not buried separately, but only women different ages. Personal funeral equipment provided such age. At age 1–3 years has significantly reduced. Children this separately.
